The story begins at AlphaCamp, the tutor institution where we first connected online, and later met in person at the AlphaCamp Community event in Taichung.
After that, we met several times both at technical conferences and through personal meetups.
The last time we met in Taiwan, I told her that I would be flying to Australia the following week to begin my master's studies. She was stunned.
"This isn’t a rushed idea, it’s a plan I’ve thoughtfully committed to over time. One day, I’d love for you to come and visit it with me.", that was the last message I left her before I arrived in Melbourne.
Three months later, she came and we explored both Sydney and Melbourne together.
Anna is such a brave girl, that's one of the reasons I love her. She was so thoughtful and detail-oriented when planning the trip with me. We share the same values when it comes to money and quality of life. One moment that really meant a lot to me was when we stayed in a noisy, cramped hostel where I couldn’t hold my online class, we didn’t hesitate to move to another hotel, even though it meant paying more.
We watched an opera, SUNSET BOULEVARD, at Sydney Opera House.
We had two wonderful stays at Kith Hotel Darling Harbour. Also, we enjoyed many delicious meals and brunches.
We visited the White Rabbit Gallery, which was filled with modern and unique artworks, and I couldn’t stop looking at Anna’s smile.
After a three-day stay in Sydney, we headed to Melbourne and attended the screening of my documentary with my classmates. Anna is always welcome to connect with them.
We explored many famous spots, including Gibson Steps, the Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, Bay Of Islands, and London Bridge.
I caught her smile as we enjoyed hamburgers and fish and chips at a small local restaurant there.
We wandered through many places, reaching as far as the Deakin campus in Warrnambool.
Next, we went to the Phillip Island.
We also visited the Koala Conservation Centre(we could only see the koalas from a distance), saw a sheepdog demonstration, and explored the Chocolate Factory.
The night performance at Sovereign Hill was mainly for children; not particularly exciting, but still fun in its own way.
During the last three days, we stayed in Burwood and spent our time thoroughly exploring the city.
